Answer the comments too.
The buying question sitting under your post gets an answer.
Comment management is handling the public replies left on a business's social posts in the same place as its private messages. A comment asking about price is a sales question that everyone can see, so it needs both a public answer and, often, a private follow-up. Keeping both in one queue means neither is missed.
- Facebook and Instagram comments land in the inbox
- Reply in public or open a private message from the comment
- Hide and unhide comments on your own posts
- Keyword rules can open a private message automatically
How it works.
- 01
Connect the Page or profile
Connect the Facebook Page or Instagram professional account. Comments on your posts start arriving alongside direct messages.
- 02
Read them in one tab
Comments open in their own tab in the inbox, stored once so the same comment does not appear twice when the platform resends it.
- 03
Choose public or private
Reply publicly under the comment, or send a private message to the person who wrote it, which moves the conversation into a normal thread.
- 04
Automate the obvious ones
Write a keyword rule so that comments matching a phrase get a private message automatically. Comments with no matching rule are left for a person.
Every comment in the queue
Comments are stored against your workspace as they arrive, which makes them a working queue.
- Instagram comments and Facebook Page comments
- Stored once, so a resent notification does not duplicate
- New comments only, so edits and deletions do not resurface
Public reply or private message
Some answers belong under the post, some belong in a direct message. Both are one action from the same view.
- Public reply posted back to the platform
- Private message that opens a normal conversation thread
- Every deletion logged with who did it
Moderate what stays visible
Hiding a comment removes it from public view without deleting it, which is usually the right response to spam or abuse on a business post.
- Hide and unhide on your own posts
- Handled from the inbox, without opening the platform app
- Every moderation action attributed to the person who took it
Rules that open a conversation
Comment automation here is deliberately narrow: a matching keyword opens a private message. Nothing is posted publicly by a rule.
- Exact, contains or pattern matching, in priority order
- Separate rules for Instagram and Facebook comments
- Nothing sent when no rule matches
What it does not do.
Comment deletion is not available. You can hide and unhide.
Automatic responses to comments open a private message only, never a public reply.
Comment edits and removals made on the platform are not tracked.
Common questions
Which comments come in?
- New comments on your Facebook Page posts and your Instagram posts, once the Page or professional account is connected.
Can I reply publicly from Otobiz?
- Yes. A public reply is posted back to the platform under the comment, and the action is recorded in the audit record.
How does comment to message automation work?
- A keyword rule matches the comment text and sends that person a private message. Nothing is sent when no rule matches.
Does automation post public replies?
- No. Automatic responses open a private message only. Public replies are written by a person.
Can I delete a comment?
- You can hide and unhide. Deletion is not available, which keeps a moderation action reversible.
Do edited comments update?
- Only new comments are processed. Edits and removals on the platform are not tracked back into the queue.
Does a private reply become a normal conversation?
- Yes. It opens a thread in the inbox with the same history, assignment and notes as any other conversation.
Are comments included in reporting?
- Comment actions are recorded in the audit record. Conversation reporting covers messages. There is no comment volume report.
Why answer comments in the same place as messages?
- Because a public question is worth more than a private one. Everyone reading the post sees the answer, and the person who asked can be moved into a private conversation.
Every question in one place, answered once.
