WhatsApp on your own number.
The number on your shopfront is the number that answers.
The WhatsApp Business Platform lets a company send and receive WhatsApp messages through software, with several people answering one number. It requires a business account, a registered number and message templates approved by Meta for anything sent outside a customer initiated conversation window.
- Your business account, your number, your templates
- Several team members answering one number
- The reply window handled for you, before a send is attempted
- Template builder, submission and status in one place
How it works.
- 01
Connect through embedded sign-up
Sign in with the Meta business that owns the number. The business account, the number and the templates are registered to you, not to Otobiz.
- 02
Bring or build templates
Existing approved templates sync in. New ones are built, validated against Meta's rules and submitted for review from inside the workspace.
- 03
Answer inside the window
When a customer writes, a free-form conversation window opens. Replies inside it are ordinary messages and need no template.
- 04
Use a template outside it
Once the window closes, an approved template is required, so a message is not silently rejected by the platform.
One number, a whole team
The phone app allows one device and one person. The platform lets a team share the number with assignment, internal notes and a full history per customer.
- Shared queue with per conversation ownership
- Internal notes and mentions the customer never sees
- Contact record, orders and past threads beside the chat
- Read receipts pushed back when your team opens a thread
The conversation window, handled for you
WhatsApp allows free-form replies for a limited period after a customer message. That rule is applied in one place, before a send is attempted.
- Window state evaluated at the moment of sending
- Template required automatically once it has closed
- Scheduled messages re-checked at send, not at scheduling
Templates as a first-class object
Templates are built, validated and submitted from the workspace, and their status is visible without opening Meta's tooling.
- Header, body, footer and buttons with placeholder samples
- Validation against Meta's rules before submission
- Approved, pending, rejected and paused states visible
- Rejection reasons carried back with a revise and resubmit path
Sending that respects the rules
Consent, suppression, pacing and duplicate protection apply to every WhatsApp send, whether it is a one to one reply or part of a campaign.
- Marketing sends require a positive opt-in
- Opt-out keywords suppress a contact automatically
- Pacing, quiet hours and per contact frequency caps
- Every send written to the audit record
Deeper platform featuressoon
Calling on the business number, and the partner-gated paths for linking a number already in use on the WhatsApp Business app.
- Business calling on the connected number
- Coexistence with a number already on the Business app
What it does not do.
You need a Meta business account and a number that is not already active on the WhatsApp Business app, unless you use the partner-gated linking path.
Template approval is Meta's decision and its timing is not something any software controls.
Meta charges for every template message you send, priced by category and destination country.
Common questions
Do I own the WhatsApp number?
- Yes. You connect the business account and number you own. Otobiz sends through them and does not resell you a number.
What is the conversation window?
- After a customer messages you, WhatsApp allows free-form replies for a limited period. Once it closes, an approved template is required.
Can several people use one number?
- Yes. One number shared by the whole team is the main reason to move to the platform. Assignment and notes keep a team from colliding.
How do I get templates approved?
- Build the template in the workspace, where it is validated against Meta's formatting rules, then submit it. Status and rejection reasons come back into the same view.
Can I bring existing templates?
- Yes. A sync pulls your existing approved templates from Meta so you are not rebuilding what already works.
What happens if I send outside the window?
- A template is required once the window has closed, so the platform's rule is applied before the message is attempted.
Is there a limit on how fast I can send?
- Yes. You set how fast a send may go, and when WhatsApp says slow down, the send waits instead of pushing.
What happens to my number if I leave?
- It stays yours, with its business account, templates and quality rating. That is the point of connecting your own account.
