WhatsApp Business Account

A WhatsApp Business Account, usually abbreviated WABA, is the container inside a Meta business that holds your WhatsApp phone numbers, message templates, and messaging settings.

Who owns the WABA is the most consequential decision when choosing a platform, because it determines what you keep if you leave. If it sits inside your own Meta business, the number, the templates, and the opt-in history are yours to reconnect elsewhere. If it belongs to a vendor, changing vendor usually means starting again.
