Conversational commerce

Conversational commerce is selling and supporting customers inside a messaging conversation, from the first product question through to the order and afterwards.

Also calledchat commercemessaging commerce

It suits considered purchases and markets where messaging is the default channel, because a question answered in seconds prevents the drop-off a web form causes. It works when the answers are grounded in real catalog and order data, and fails when the business cannot answer stock or delivery questions accurately.

Worth knowing alongside it.

Catalog
A catalog is a structured list of a business's products, with names, prices, images, and descriptions, that a messaging platform can show inside a chat.
Cart abandonment
Cart abandonment is a shopper adding items to a basket and leaving without completing the purchase, and cart recovery is the follow-up that tries to bring them back.
Cash on delivery
Cash on delivery is a payment method where the customer pays when the order arrives.
Return to origin
Return to origin, usually abbreviated RTO, is a shipped order that comes back to the seller undelivered, typically because the customer refused it or could not be reached.
